Enter the Swarm Grid
A downloadable game for Windows
Enter the Swarm Gird is a prototype of a Virtual Reality Game that lets you experience swarm behaviour of digital creatures in a setting inspired by the computer graphics of the the 1980s.
You can spawn different types of swarm creatures directly from your virtual hands and influence their behaviour by shooting obstacles or food at them.
The design was inspired by the movie "tron" (1982) and the vector graphics of early arcade games like Ataris "BattleZone" (1980).
The movement of the swarm creatures is simulated using the boids algorithmen (1986) of Craig W. Reynolds. You can find an in-depth explanation and a lot of corresponding scientific papers on his website
An Oculus Rift or Rift S is required to play (It will also run on the Oculus Quest but only if you are using the Oculus Link Cable).
At the moment the game has no real goal or end. Just create some swarms and enjoy their movements ... and maybe feed them from time to time.
